Start with one thing
Choose something you can explain confidently. A woven basket, cakes made to order, or a garment sewn to measure. Write down what it is, who it is for and how long you need to make it. A customer should not have to guess.
Let the photograph answer a question
Place the product near a window in daylight, against an uncluttered background. Take one photograph of the whole item, one close-up of the texture and one that shows its size. Avoid filters that change the true colour. If a person’s hands or face appear, ask before publishing the photograph.
Say what a customer needs to know
Price, dimensions, colour choices and preparation time are a good start. If delivery or collection is available, explain the area covered and any cost. Say what the price includes. For food, describe ingredients accurately and clarify the customer’s requirements before accepting an order.
Make the first enquiry easy
One enquiry button is enough. Ask the customer to include the product, quantity and date needed. Do not publish someone else’s personal number or testimonial without permission. Read the page on your phone: could someone understand the offer in a minute?
A small task for this week
Choose one product. Take three photographs. Write five lines about it. Ask a friend to read them and tell you what is still unclear. That is enough material for your first page.
